Inspiring Ischia

The volcanic activity in this region definitely has done its job right where Ischia is concerned. Natural beauty, the most pristine aqua sea, the stunning beaches, and abundance of thermal spas bubbling forth make it not only a lovely, but sublimely attractive tourist destination.

An island less than one hour from Napoli, Ischia is amazingly well connected to the mainland, making it a perfect daytrip, or an even more ideal place to daytrip from. Nicer than Napoli itself, less touristy than Sorrento and Capri perhaps, but VERY multi-national and absolutely teeming with life, Ischia is an island that’s up and coming, and definitely holds its own as a Mediterranean hot spot.

Home of late night parties, dusk til dawn entertainment, and club scenes comparable to Ibiza and Amsterdam, Ischia is a magnet for the young, beautiful, rich, famous, energetic, and all around party animals. The bars are numerous, have wonderfully varied menus and the exquisite cuisine is not only an in between pick-me-up, but one of the most important perks of being in Italy.

The local “D.O.C” (stands for having been checked by the government for taste and quality, and though this is more of a wine thing, it has been used in places in other senses) mozzarella is absolutely the most delicious, creamiest taste to ever enter a cheese lover’s mouth. After tasting this, it’s hard to live up to.

Cuisine lovers will be happy all over Italy of course, but even more so in Ischia Ponte. Like the rest of the island full of absolutely exquisite beaches, but here the prices are somewhat lower and some of the most amazing local cuisine can be found; at an economic rate. Sciu
